Deputy
Fire Chief Steve Benotti has been with Hampton Fire/Rescue since 1985. During
that time he has held the positions of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and
Deputy Chief of Operations. Deputy Chief Benotti began his emergency services
career in 1974 as a volunteer on his local ambulance corps at the age of 16.
When he turned 18 he joined the Temple Volunteer Fire Department and worked,
along with another member, to build the departments first rescue truck. Deputy
Benotti worked for both the Durham, NH Fire Department as well as the
Alexandria, Virginia Fire Department prior to coming to Hampton in 1985. He
holds a degree in Fire Protection from NH Community Technical College and is a
member of the Seacoast Chiefs Association, NH Chiefs Association, International
Chiefs Association, International Association of Firefighters, and the Hampton
Rotary Club. Deputy Benotti manages operational aspects of Hampton Fire/Rescue
on a daily basis and serves as the Incident Commander during various types of
incidents in the community. He has attended the National Fire Academy and has
trained in various places across the country in Incident Scene Management. He
resides in Exeter with his wife Louise, four kids, and 3 dogs.
